I’m a very clean person, but sometimes I go a little overboard with the soap and become irritated.
It hurts to urinate because of it, but I don’t really know what I should do or how I should avoid getting soap inside while I’m washing myself.
Any tips?
Soap shouldn’t get anywhere near to your vagina or vulva, all you should ever use to wash your genitals with is water and use your hands to wipe between your labia. Anything chemical will cause irritation because your vagina and vulva are made of mucosa (like skin but without the top protective layer so more delicate) and because of the very delicate pH and vaginal flora balance within your vagina and vulva. Soap is drying, soap can kill healthy bacteria as well as unhealthy bacteria, soaps can contain very harmful chemicals that your genitals are more sensitive to and it will effect vaginal pH. This goes for any soaps, washes, wipes, ‘feminine’ cleaning products, sprays, talc’s, douching, commercial tampons, commercial pads, bubble baths, all should be avoided.
All you need to do is be careful not to let any soap run down into your genitals when in the shower, if you have bath then try to keep the washing until the end of the bath and rinse off your genitals at the end.
